Manitoba invited 587 candidates Under Skilled Worker Program in New MPNP Draw

On June 29, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round under the Manitoba skilled worker program in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #184, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 315 applicants who scored 613 points and above.  Manitoba also issued 184 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 662 points, three points fewer than the previous draw.  In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 26 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 717 points, one point fewer than in the previous draw.  In addition, 62 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 587 candidates, including 162 Express Entry candidates for this round.  In 2023, MPNP invited 7,298 candidates, and 1,943 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.   Skilled Worker Program Manitoba The needs of Manitoba employers are the driving force behind the Skilled Worker Program. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programme for Skilled Workers is mostly a locally driven program that is managed with Manitoba employers’ requirements in mind. The workers selected by MPNP are all highly skilled, internationally trained, and experienced workers who have a specific skill set required by the local labor market.  All of the selected applicants are then nominated for and/or invited to apply for Canadian Permanent Resident visas, which will enable them to work and settle in Manitoba, Canada. Manitoba invited 49 Ukrainian candidates through the MPNP

On June 26, 2023, the Government of Manitoba held the 15th draw for Ukrainian candidates. In this draw, the province invited 49 candidates through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).  To be eligible, applicants must be Ukrainian citizens, have a minimum of CLB 4 in each language band, have connections to the province (close relative, community ties, previous employment, or studies in Manitoba), and score at least 60 points in the EOI registration points-grid, and possess a valid language test in one of the official languages.  In total, the province invited 6,711 candidates in 2023, including 174 Ukrainian nationals. Manitoba invited 540 immigrants in EOI Draw 182

On June 15, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round 182, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 255 applicants who scored 602 points and above.  Manitoba also issued 205 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 665 points, four points fewer than the previous draw.  In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 21 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 718 points, 83 points fewer than in the previous draw.  In addition, 59 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. MPNP has introduced the new Skilled Worker Webform

From now candidates have to submit all requests using the new Skilled Worker Webform. On June 13, 2023, the government of Manitoba published an update, considering a process for skilled worker requests under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). New changes are related to such processes as informing the MPNP of an intention to: change employers,  requesting a work permit support letter,  a nomination certificate extension, and  informing the MPNP of any changes to the Express Entry profile.  All complete requests received through the web form will proceed within 10 business days.   Skilled Worker Webform MPNP’s new skilled worker webform is for candidates under the skilled Worker stream and International education stream. Applicants under these streams can submit the following requests; change of employment, work permit support letters (provincial nominees only), nomination certificate extensions (provincial nominees only), and Express Entry profile updates. The new Skilled Worker Webform must be used to submit all requests. The MPNP commits to respond to every web form request within ten business days. This processing time may be exceeded by incomplete requests. RNIP Canada boosts Manitoba school enrolment

Immigration to Manitoba through RNIP Canada is boosting the number of students in schools of participating communities. For instance, Altona/Rhineland in southeastern Manitoba, which the Garden Valley School Division partly serves, is experiencing a surge in student population due to its participation in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.  According to the latest data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), immigration to Manitoba increased by 30.7% in 2022, with 21,660 new permanent residents arriving last year, compared to 16,575 in 2021.  RNIP saw a significant increase from 50 to 150 new permanent residents in 2021 and 2022, respectively. In the first quarter of 2023, 45 new permanent residents were welcomed, with a projected 180 newcomers for the rest of the year.  Last year, the province welcomed 1,640 new permanent residents through the Temporary-to-Permanent Resident Pathway (TR2PR), a 51.8% increase from the previous year. Additionally, Manitoba received 1,790 refugees in 2022, more than doubled in 2021. About the RNIP Canada The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is an initiative driven by the local community. On June 1, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In EOI Draw #181, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream invited 262 applicants who scored 607 points and above. Manitoba also issued 240 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 669 points, 32 points fewer than the previous draw.  In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 31 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 801 points, 80 points more than in the previous draw.  In addition, 56 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. On April 6, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the new MPNP draw. In round #174 MPNP invited candidates in different streams. In round #174, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 225 applicants who scored 615 points and above.  Manitoba also issued 226 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 670 points, 2 points fewer than the previous draw.  In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 54 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
